Position Summary
The Tax Audit Junior Associate is an entry-level position within the Tax Audit & Dispute Resolution team for recent graduates who will be trained to become skilled tax audit professionals. Under close supervision, the Junior Associate supports audit defense engagements by gathering evidence, conducting basic legal research, preparing data packages (incl. data processing), and assisting in document analysis. This role provides foundational exposure to analyzing clients’ tax obligations and financial statements and understanding business processes and supply chains as critical building blocks for constructing audit defense arguments.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Audit Support & Preparation
- Preparing administrative documents, such as: Power of Attorney and its attachments; Assignment Letter; Checklist Data Requirement; and Tax Audit Timelines.
- Conducting research regarding the client’s profile, such as the business process, tax obligation, and common industrial issues.
- Conduct basic legal research on specific tax regulations, understanding financial statements, and relevant supporting documents and research for previous and similar cases and evidence databases for ongoing audit engagements.
- Assist in preparing data, supporting documents, and tax equalization during the audit process under Senior Associate supervision, including following up on the required data.
- Assist upper level regarding communication with external parties, such as meeting with tax authorities and clients including preparing invitations, minutes of meeting, and etc.
- Preparing the response letter and the supporting document for preliminary and final tax audit finding under Senior Associate supervision, such as preparing timeline, checking data accuracy of the list of preliminary finding (DTS), final tax audit finding (SPHP), closing documents (RISPEM, IHPA, BAHP, and SKP).
- Assist in the preparation of the completion report.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Accounting, Economics, Taxation, or Fiscal Administration with a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00; fresh graduates welcome.
- 0–2 years of experience; an internship at a Tax Consulting Firm and Public Accountant is advantageous.
- Brevet A & B certification completed or in progress is advantageous.
- Strong written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia with attention to formal/basic writing argumentation.
- Basic English communication skills (mandatory, minimum B2); English legal writing ability is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation.
