Position Summary
The Tax Audit Senior Associate is a mid-level tax audit specialist responsible for data completion, maintaining the tax audit timeline, coordinating with clients to gather evidence, conducting necessary communication with the tax authorities, and supervising Junior Associates and Associates in tax audit tasks. This role provides deep understanding and exposure to analyzing clients’ tax obligations and financial statements, and understanding business processes and supply chains as critical building blocks for constructing audit defense arguments.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Audit Response Preparation
- Able to lead a team consisting of junior associate and associate, including to assign tasks to subordinates based on workload.
- Provide guidance, supervise, and review on research regarding the client’s profile, such as the business process, tax obligation, and common industrial issues.
- Provide guidance on basic legal research on specific tax regulations, understanding financial statements, and relevant supporting documents and research for previous and similar cases and evidence databases for ongoing audit engagements.
- Provide guidance, supervise, review, and responsible for data preparation, supporting documents, and tax equalization during the audit process under Senior Associate supervision, including following up on the required data.
- Provide guidance, supervise, review, and responsible on the response letter and the supporting document for preliminary and final tax audit finding under Senior Associate supervision, such as preparing timeline, checking data accuracy of the list of preliminary finding (DTS), final tax audit finding (SPHP), closing documents (RISPEM, IHPA, BAHP, and SKP).
- Responsible for conducting communication with external parties, such as meeting with tax authorities and clients including preparing invitations, preparing minutes of meeting, following up documents, finalization of tax audit, and etc.
- Responsible for the completion of the project with the assistance from direct supervisor to the manager.
- Monitor tax audit project, deadlines, and procedural requirements for the team’s portfolio.
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing by documenting case learnings and dispute strategy insights.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Fiscal Administration with min.GPA 3.00/4.00.
- 3–5 years of experience in tax audit, tax dispute, or tax litigation at a tax consultant firm.
- Brevet A & B certification (mandatory); Brevet C is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in persuasive writing and structured argumentation.
- Experience with Tax Audit procedures and the next legal action.
- Professional proficiency in English (mandatory, minimum B2).
