The COVID-19 pandemic poses major challenges for companies including cash flow constraints, depressed profitability, and disruption to the supply chain. This happened due to temporary restrictions on business operations which reduced production/sales output. In fact, the spread of the COVID-19 virus has also caused recessions in several countries. Considering the impact of COVID-19 on economic conditions, which is quite large and unpredictable, the government has made efforts to provide incentives and support to protect the economy and the business world.

The unique and unpredictable economic conditions caused by the pandemic also raise new issues and add to the complexity of applying transfer pricing. This creates a high potential for transfer price disputes for affiliated transactions conducted by Multinational Business Groups with the Tax Authorities. Therefore, it is necessary to take strategic steps and solutions for taxpayers in facing these challenges in order to prevent the risk of such disputes in accordance with the OECD recommendations and tax provisions applicable in Indonesia.

Hal tersebut menimbulkan tingginya potensi sengketa harga transfer atas transaksi afiliasi yang dilakukan oleh Grup Usaha Multinasional dengan Otoritas Pajak. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan langkah strategis dan solutif bagi Wajib Pajak dalam menghadapi tantangan tersebut agar dapat mencegah risiko sengketa tersebut sesuai dengan rekomendasi OECD dan ketentuan perpajakan yang berlaku di Indonesia.
